Jiangsu Extra-High Voltage Transformer Insulation Material Engineering Research Center was established in July 2010 by Changzhou Yingzhong Electric Co., Ltd. with approval from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology. As a provincial-level engineering research center, it specializes in the R&D of insulation materials for extra-high voltage (EHV) transformers.

Center for Simulating Partial Discharge in Oil

Currently, for insulating laminated materials, electrical performance testing mainly relies on the electric field strength of parallel adhesive layers as an important technical indicator. However, with the development of transformer technology, the current issue troubling transformer manufacturers is that partial discharge tests are required during transformer acceptance. Over 80% of test failures are due to partial discharge exceeding limits. For critical insulating materials within transformers, there are no partial discharge test items, relying solely on transformer tests, which clearly indicates a post-inspection situation. The losses caused by partial discharge exceeding limits are significant. If the partial discharge performance of insulating materials can be monitored, it can greatly improve the first-time pass rate of transformer manufacturing.

Physical and Chemical Laboratory

The company has the only laboratory of EHV / UHV transformer insulation for high-voltage test hall equipment more than 50 units, a full set of testing project of IEC standard covers: Wood detection of insulation materials, physical-chemical properties, methods and materials analysis, detection of metal particles insulation water physicochemical analysis of insulation materials, electrical performance test etc.. X-ray inspection for each piece of finished products ensure non metal particles and inner delamination.
